managing status updates/news feeds

Before the new format, you used to be able to set up your fb friends so you automatically get their status updates & postings, now it seems pretty random on whose I get on my "home" and whose I don't get. Can someone tell me how you can control whose updates you can receive? Say for example, I DON'T want someone in particular's status updates or their comments on their profile from their friends, but I DO want them to be able to see my updates. How can I set this up?

Go to your Homepage, scrool down, and click on "Edit Options". There you can manage what you want and don't want to see.

Also, you can try hovering this recent activity you don't want to receive, click on "Hide" and then on "Hide (Friend)"
